Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for avionics systems, focusing on miniaturization and optimization for size, weight, and power (SWaP).
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Perform structural and thermal analyses on mechanical designs to ensure product reliability in aviation environments.
  • Design mechanical components and enclosures to meet DO-160 environmental testing requirements, including temperature, altitude, vibration, shock, and EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate mechanical designs with electronic components.
  • Support manufacturing processes by creating documentation, assembly instructions, and tooling designs.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and design team to refine mechanical designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during prototyping and production phases.
  • Identify and implement design improvements for existing products to enhance performance and manufacturability.
  • Research and evaluate new materials and manufacturing technologies to drive innovation.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, test results, and engineering changes.
  • Create and modify product labels and graphics using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software for 3D modeling and design, required.
  • Experience with mechanical design for small form factor products, required.
  • Knowledge of materials selection and manufacturing processes for precision components, recommended.
  • Understanding of DO-160 environmental testing requirements for avionics systems, recommended.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator for creating product labels and graphics, recommended.
  • Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) principles, recommended.
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts as they relate to mechanical design, recommended.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex mechanical design challenges.
  • Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated multitasking ability, self-sufficiency, and attention to detail.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
