Job Summary:

uAvionix provides state of the art aircraft surveillance at airports throughout the USA as part of the FAAs Surface Awareness Initiative (SAI) to help prevent collisions between aircraft, and between aircraft and ground vehicles. In addition, uAvionix provides products and services for UAS and General Aviation aircraft.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our clients across our range of products and services, but will be focused on SAI. You will ensure our customers have a seamless experience with our products and services. Your expertise in various technical areas will be crucial in diagnosing issues, guiding users through solutions, and contributing to product development efforts. Your passion for technology and a commitment to customer satisfaction will bode well in this position delivering outstanding technical support that enhances our customers' experiences.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Become an expert in ALL uAvionix products and services.
  • Follow uAvionix support processes and standards for all of our products and services.
  • Work with contractors, FAA, and controllers to troubleshoot any issues that may arise in the SAI/airport systems
  • Manage, configure, and troubleshoot SAI infrastructure including monitors, routers, flightstations, LAN and WAN networks, VTU-20, and any other equipment in the system.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure uptime. Create monthly reports to document issues and outages.
  • Support engineering when they are performing maintenance and software upgrades.
  • Contact airports to advise on maintenance windows and any other issues that may arise.
  • Train and guide our customers and resellers through troubleshooting tasks via phone, email, support tickets or on-site. Follow through until their technical issues are resolved.
  • Submit return authorizations when products need to be returned.         
  • Liaises with manufacturing when products are returned to identify failures.
  • Report failure trends.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to identify bugs and suggest improvements based on customer feedback.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and other members of uAvionix as needed.
  • Give recommendations to changes to manuals and pass on customer input.
  • Assist in the training of new team members on technical support processes and tools.
  • 24/7 support as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Familiarity with databases and experience in managing data-related queries.
  • Leadership qualities that foster teamwork and collaboration within the department.
  • Experience in customer relations is a plus but not required.
  • A proactive approach to learning new technologies and staying updated on industry trends.
  • Familiarity with ATC and the NAS.
  • Be knowledgeable in Github.
  • Inspector authorization, Airframe&Powerplant, Avionics background, pilot certifications, or other related aviation experience.

Education / Experience:
  • Passion for Aviation
  • High school diploma or GED; AA or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of demonstrated success and experience in a technical support role or related field.
  • Experience with Excel, databases, and ticketing systems.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
  • This position requires the ability to talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and/or move objects of varying sizes and shapes up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours to accommodate events.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
